In the summer of 2000, BDF got back together and played for the first time in over 6 years. Although the jam session was closed to the public, the band proceeded to record some new material. Songs such as "Fecal Snow", "Can't Keep The Ants Down", and "Latrell Sprewell" were all gotten down on tape during this session. The session even involved some video footage... Details of this video are still a bit sketchy, as it has not been released to the public at this time, but sources say that it may include BDF's first ever music video, as well as some creative theater starring sock puppets and members of the New York Knicks. Hopefully, more information and the tape itself will be made public in the near future. From the time of that recording session to early 2001, BDF did not go back into the studio, and did not work on any new material... A certain lull came over the band yet again... With interest fading, and new songs not being developed, a new idea was born... With a little bit of creativity and inspiration, the BDF website was born in March of 2001! After spurning the corporate and commercial implications associated with the ".com" domain name, WWW.BeerDrinkingFools.Org was born! Inspired by the BDF website and the idea of a new outlet for creativity, Steve got together with former DSA and RAG bandmate Rich L. for some recording sessions at the Boogie Down Bronx recording studio. Original BDF member Tom also joined them for the first recording session, and provided excellent vocals on the very first version of "Fuck Rudy". While consuming much beers and German food, the band managed to put together about 5 or 6 different songs. Such popular songs as "Worx Sux!", "No Yuppies", and "Puketober" saw their first ever attempts during these sessions. Other rare tracks such as "Beers In Heaven" and "Fuct Up" also were captured on tape during this period... These were definitely productive sessions, and a huge step in the right direction for BDF as they welcomed in the beginning of a new era... But something was still missing, and the band was determined to find it... |
