Histories of Other Bands Associated With BDF

After the first recording session, more followed. The backyard location was a popular site and hosted a few more sessions. The band wrote songs at a faster pace now. The inspiration for songs was seen around every corner, in every bar, at the bottom of every pint glass, and among the broken pieces of every forty ounce shattered on the ground of the park. And the dull afternoons as a lifeguard provided countless hours to put those inspirations down on paper. As Dar and Steve often scribbled lyrics on the back of guest lists for their pool, Rich used bowling score sheets and napkins to get down his latest ideas as he worked as a technician at the bowling alley. The end result was a shitload of songs. 

Over the remainder of the summer, these songs were recorded, always while drinking beers in large quantities. During some of these sessions, Tom and Rin showed up for some cameo appearances on songs. Mostly doing choruses and commentary before and after songs, the two were adopted into the band. Towards the end of the summer, the band managed to get their hands on some electronic drum pads- a small flat device with four surfaces which could be programmed to sound like a variety of drum sounds when hit. At this time, Tom was proclaimed the new drummer of the band. All songs going forward would now contain drums. As for the older songs which had no drums, the band took the tapes and the drum pads into the studio and used some advanced recording techniques to mix drum beats in with the originally records songs. 

Before they knew it, the band had recorded over 60 minutes worth of original music. An eclectic collection of musical sounds as well as lyrical subjects, the album was indeed an interesting piece of work. The master tapes were taken back into the studio, songs were put in a logical and flowing order on the tape, and the album was completed. The band was happy with their effort, and they celebrated the release of "We're Outta Beer!" by going out and drinking heavily.
