BDF Rocks the Lowdown!

11/12/01

Hello all,

Thanks to all the peoples who came out to support BDF at their first gig. The turnout was pretty amazing, and the crowd was what really made it a memorable and historic night. BDF fans are the best! We hope you all enjoyed the show and had as great a time as we did!

For everyone who wasn't there, do not despair. We are playing there again soon with our friends Squirrels from Hell! We'll send out more information about that gig soon.

On Friday night, we were the HEADLINING BAND!! We had a GREAT opening band... us!! That's right. The other two bands didn't show so we played two sets. There were lots of singalongs and special guest appearances, and anyone who bought us a beer got a limited edition demo CD.

In unrelated merchandise news, our limited edition Bierstein is not so limited anymore. It will be available for the rest of the year. We've purchased several already, and they are high quality ceramic, with terrific BDF artwork by Richie Rheingold! There's also other stuff available at our Official BDF Merchandise Type Place.

Look for the gig page to be updated soon with the set list and photos. The plan was to scan in a copy of one of the set lists, complete with beer stains and footprints, but they all mysteriously disappeared by the end of the night... It seems some of the BDF fans took them as souveneirs!

Thanks again to all those who showed up. And we hope to see you again at the next performance. And for those of you who couldn't make it, forgot about it, or got so drunk you forgot where you put your car keys, we hope you'll make it there next time!

God Bless America,
God Bless Punk Rock,

Demo CD!!!

10/24/01

Heyas fans!

To celebrate the announcement of their first live gig, BDF is pleased to release a brand spankin new (still un-named) Demo CD! That's right folks, the band has taken several of their favorite tunes, recorded them in the studio, edited and mixed them (yeah, right), and put them all on a CD for distribution purposes! Hopefully, the demo will make its way to a wide variety of bars in the NYC area and more gigs will develop. And, of course, we'll have copies available for our loyal friends and fans! The demo features "This One's On The House" and "Only The Weak Ones Die", two songs that have not been released to the public previously! And, of course, the actual CD will come decorated with original BDF artwork!

So check out the other songs from the Demo, and come out and support the band at their next gig at the Low Down!

Laters!

-Steve

BDF Live !!!

BDF Live!
The Lowdown
Friday, November 9th, 2001

You've visited the website...
You've read the stories...
You've heard the music...
You've seen them drunk...
And now, BDF brings the energy and excitment of their unique sound to a bar for the first time ever!

In what is sure to be one of the biggest events of the year, BDF will be making their live debut at the Lowdown in Mount Vernon on Friday, November 9th. The wait is over. And the music is ready to explode.

Founded in 1993 as an entry for SPIN Magazine's "Worst Band in America Contest", BDF's early sound was raw and unrelenting. Two full-length albums, "We're Outta Beer!" and "Sobriety Sux", were recorded within the first 2 years. After that, BDF fell dormant and inactive for several years. In the Summer of 2000, the band got back together to record a few songs on a live (and still untitled) EP. But no real follow-ups developed at that time.

In April 2001, the band shuffled it's lineup significantly, adding a new bassist, vocalist, and drummer. New songs were written, and BDF went into the rehearsal studio at least once a week to work on the songs. The new sound that emerged was a more refined and organized BDF sound, yet one that still made you want to jump around and consume large amounts of alcohol.

With such catchy and hummable new songs as "Work Sux", "Meet Me At The Bar", and "This One's On The House", BDF is prepared to begin their tour of the local bars in NYC and Westchester. And it all begins on November 9th at the Lowdown. Doors open around 8pm, and BDF expects to go on stage once they have worked up a nice buzz. Don't miss what is sure to be a historic event for not just the band, but the entire music industry!

BDF Steins and Stickers!

10/12/01

Hello all!

The month of October means two things - Halloween..... and OCTOBERFEST !!!
To celebrate one of our favorite months, we are proud and excited to make available for the first time ever our official BDF Beer Steins to drink your favorite Octoberfest brew out of! The original artwork by Rich L. displays such fine and important drinking-related items, such as a keg of beer, an Anarchistic spade, a shamrock, grains and hops, bottles of FTSD beer, a skull, and, of course, a German phrase praising beer. Be sure to order yours today! Our manufacturers say they are only offering the steins until the end of October, so get yours now! They're sure to be a collector's item!

Speaking of collector's items, we've also had stickers printed! We're giving these away for free, but you'll have to come hang out with us to get one! Whether it be at the bar drinking beers before practice, or at our latest gig, or at work with a co-worker who has close BDF connections, just remind us you want a sticker, and you'll get one! ;)

And speaking of gigs.. we're working on getting some in the very near future... Look for more information about that soon!

That's all for now!

Peace out!

-Steve

God Bless America

09/27/01

Hey all... Know it's been awhile since the last update...

Just wanted to say that we are still going forward with our music, and that we send our heartfelt sympathy and regrets to those who may have lost friends and family in the World Trade Center attack.... The attack was something that has effected all of us, both here in New York, and all over the world. There's not much more that can be said that hasn't already been said. BDF recognizes and appreciates the sacrifices of all those involved in the rescue efforts, and acknowledges the pain and sorrow that is out there right now...

God bless America.

Peace out!

-Steve
