Contest Update, New Interview, and More!

07/05/01

What's up peoples!

Hope everybody had a happy and drunken 4th of July alcoholiday! All I have to say is it fucking sucks to have a holiday on a Wednesday. I'm jealous of all the people who took off today and tomorrow! I hope it rains! :P

We have posted yet another one of our interesting and exclusive interviews. This time, Rich G. of BDF fame and fortune gives us his opinions and answers to some of the most daring questions yet! Check it out, and let us know what you think!

As always, additional ideas for interviews, questions, whatever, etc etc are always welcome. :) Was there a question that wasn't asked that you would like answered? Let us know! We want to keep our fans happy and informed!

Also, a minor update on the First Official BDF Contest: The entries have been sent out to our panel of highly qualified judges to be scored. Due to the holiday this week, some of the judges may be drunker than usual, so the full results might not be in until next week some time. Keep checking back here for an update! And thanks to all those people who sent in submissions for the contest! Mad props yo!

And last, but not least, rumor has it BDF will be going into a studio in Manhattan next week to work on some new tunes. Stay tuned for more information and details about this story!

Lots O' Shit! (Drummer found, new interview, contest update!)

06/18/01

What's up peoples!

In an earth-shattering turn of events, Mike G., of RAG and Gay Blade fame, has agreed to play drums with BDF! And he owns REAL drums! No more of the electronic drums you have heard on ALL of BDF's previous work! The latest rumors indicate that Mike will be heading into an actual studio with the band to jam out to some of their latest songs, and see how the chemistry works. I can say personally, that Mike is a pretty damn good drummer, and I am totally psyched about playing with him! :) Yet another step in the right direction for the BDF juggernaut.

I am also pleased to announce the second in our series of exclusive interviews! This time, we get the answers and opinions of Rich L. who has been a member of RAG, DSA, and most recently has recorded a few tunes with BDF. Be sure to check out what he has to say about his experiences with all 3 bands, his memories of college, and his plans for the future. He also, for the first time anywhere, speaks out on his improbable campaign for President of the University! So check it out, and become enlightened!

And, last but not least, I'd like to say that the contest entries are slowly trickling in. The response has been... well... a bit weak to be honest. Come on you lazy motherfuckers! Listen to the songs and write a few lines about them! You can win free shit! Jeez! For complete contest rules and shit, scroll down a bit to the news item describing the whole thing! There's less than two weeks left until the deadline! So get those fucking entries in today! Word!

Exclusive Interview with Jon of RAG!

06/05/01

Hello all! In what I hope to be the first in a series of exclusive and interesting interviews, I am proud to present an interview with Jon, guitarist and one of the creative geniuses of the original Rabid Anarchist Goatfuckers! Jon answers several interesting and provocative questions, and gives us a new look into the RAG experience.

You can find the new Interviews section under the Fun Stuff link in the main menu.

I hope to be able to post these kind of interviews on a regular basis, but a lot of that will depend upon how willing the band members are to subject themselves to the deep and probing questions out interviews cover!

Enjoy the interview, and let us know what you think on the Message Board!

Enter The First Official BDF Contest!

05/24/01

Hello to all you BDF listeners and fanatics! That's right folks! It gives me great pleasure to announce the first ever BDF Contest! And yes, there are prizes to win!

What we want you to do is express, in your own words, what you think about BDF music. Sounds easy enough, no? All you have to do is check out our latest songs and let us know what you think! Such soon to be classics as "Latrell Sprewell", "You Stupid Jerk", "Fuck Rudy", and "Work Sux!" are all waiting for you!

After you go there and listen, simply compose an email and send it back to me at steve@beerdrinkingfools.org. In that email, we would like you to do something like a mini-review of the music. How does it make you feel? Does it inspire you? Does it make your ears bleed? Does it sound like something you've heard before? Does it remind you of a rainy day when you were 9 years old and your cat got run over by a 18-wheeler? Whatever thoughts and feelings come to mind, write them down! Be creative, be funny, be honest. (Well, don't be too honest, because if you simply tell us "You suck!" you probably won't win any prizes. :P )

Use as many words as you need to express the feeling. Just keep in mind that we have a short attention span, so if you write a fricking novel, we might never decide on a winner! All entries should be submitted by Friday, June 15th, 2001. But don't wait to the last minute! How many times have you gotten something and said "Oh, I have a few weeks before the deadline, it can wait," and then totally forgotten about it? I know I have! Don't let that happen to you this time yo! We will announce the winners on our website in late June.

Oh, and I bet you're wondering about those prizes I mentioned, huh?
Well here they are:

First Prize:
* An all expenses paid trip to Manhattan (in other words, two subway tokens) to meet the band, hang out with them, drink beer, and get bombed!

* An official BDF Mouse Pad.
* An official BDF whiskey/coffee mug.

Happy Cinco De Mayo!!

05/05/01

Happy Cinco De Mayo, amigos and amigas!! While I sit here drinking my Corona and wearing my sombrero (well, okay, I'm not really wearing a sombrero, but I AM drinking Corona!) I decided what better way to celebrate this alcoholiday than with some new BDF tunes! That's right folks!

First up, is a cover tune, It's short, and to the point, called "You Stupid Jerk". The second tune is one that's close to my heart considering some of the recent events I've had to deal with. Echoing a sentiment I am sure most people can relate to, the song "Work Sux!" states the obvious by explaining how being in a bar is much more fun than being at work. And last, but not least, "Fuck Rudy" takes a look at the existing state of New York City and how our current Mayor loves to have his police officers hand out tickets like they are candy for such harmless things as drinking in public and pissing in between subway cars! He's got some nerve! So check out these tunes, and let us know what you think! There's plenty more where these came from, and BDF is just getting warmed up for an eventful spring and summer!

On another note, I moved some of the older news to an Old News Archive section, so this main page doesn't get ridiculously long. You can access it at any time from the bottom of this page.

Parental Advisory

04/29/2001

What's up! After listening to a few BDF classics tonight, I realized that we use foul language a hell of a lot. So, in the interest of keeping the parents and responsible adults out there happy, I wanted to make the fuck sure that everybody realizes there could be some explicit fucking language in some of the songs found on this site. Not to mention, some of the other content might contain some shit that might offend some fuckers as well. So, if you are under the age of 18, and/or you are offended by harsh language, go the fuck to some place like YahOO! or some shit. You have been fucking warned.
