"The Lost Songs" |
Summer 2004 |
|
In Spring of 2004, as BDF faced the departure of Mike Michelob and the end of the "Drunk Punk Era", the band still had several original songs that they liked, but had never recorded. Well, after the "Final Show" at Acme Underground, the band went into the studio one final time, and got those songs recorded.
Although some of these songs have made appearances at their live shows, this is the first time these recordings have been made available to the public. And BDF thinks there's a hit song (hit song!) or two among them still.
Enjoy!

"Put On Your Drinkin' Shoes!" |
February 2004 |
|
The second full-length studio effort from Beer Drinking Fools, this album lives up to the high expectations that were set
by the success of "No Refunds!" BDF ventures into the territory of political commentary with songs like "Fuck Bloomberg" and "Let's Get On Welfare", but remains true to their drunken roots with alcohol-induced anthems such as "I Wanna Beer" and "Drinkin' 40s On The Subway". Lucky number 13 tracks on this album as well, all of them recorded in the span of one day, many on the first take! Followers of BDF no what to expect from the band by now - catchy tunes and motivation to drink heavily - and this album delivers!

Assorted B-Sides And Alternate Song Versions |
July 2000-April 2001 |
|
After 7 long years since their last album, BDF went back into the studio
to work on some new material. What you have here is a collection of assorted songs,
and early versions of new songs in the works. Recorded over several sessions spread
between 2000 and 2001, these songs are sure to be classics as the last songs recorded with BDF's original
lineup. In the
years that have passed since "Sobriety Sux!", the band has
matured both musically and creatively. And, although they might
admit they can no longer drink as much beer as they could all those
years ago, that's not to mean they won't be drunk as hell during the
latest recording sessions! There has also been talk of a video being
filmed during this period, and some speculation about sock puppets making
an important appearance somewhere along the way. As the buzz continued to grow surrounding
what would come next, the band remained surprisingly quiet about what they had planned.
Only now, as the band moves on towards higher goals and further drunken escapades is this chapter
in the BDF saga completed. Samples and Additional

The highly anticipated follow-up to "We're
Outta Beer!", BDF did not disappoint their fans with this
second effort, "Sobriety Sux!" Demonstrating their
continued ability to crank out quality songs at an incredibly fast
pace, this album came just a year after their debut effort was
released. Included on this album were some more refined tracks such
as "Whores", "Sounds Like Thunder",
"Undercooked Gyro", and "Beer Belly". The sound of this album
demonstrates some of the growth and maturity BDF went through during
the period, and personifies the direction the band was going in
towards a greater creative and musical endeavor. The band took
everything they had learned from making the first album and put that
experience to use while recording this second classic album. A
separate entity onto itself, but a great album in its own right!

This is where it all began! With such classics as
"No Refunds", "Mad Jap", "Lisa Smoke",
"Gordie", and "Blackout", this album was
destined to become a classic even before it was finished being
recorded. Over 30 songs crammed into 60 minutes of pure listening
enjoyment. Recorded during the alcohol induced haze which filled
most of the summer of '93, BDF dared to go where no other band had
gone before. And the fans loved it! Some of the tracks are a bit
crude, and the recording equipment was not state of the art
electronics, but the raw talent and musical ability of BDF is
captured forever on this album.
