Beer Drinking Fools Make Their Big Screen Debut

Press Release 09/23/03 by the Associated Press

NEW YORK - Independent record label FTSD Records, Inc. makes its bold move from the music industry into the realm of cinema early next month as one of their most popular bands will enjoy their big screen debut. Beer Drinking Fools make an all-audio appearance in the upcoming Jack Black movie, "School of Rock", due to be released nationwide on October 3rd. The appearance, which is rumored to be spread out among three separate scenes, will likely be distorted by pitch shifters and other sound effects, making their voices and music unrecognizable, yet still promises to be one of the highlights of the film for many fans.

The FTSD Records, Inc. CEO and Chief Beer Engineer, Steven Orr, said this presented a great opportunity for the small label: "You know, a lot of bands and labels out there would kill for the chance to be in such a big budget film. And here we are, it just kind of fell into our lap while we were sitting in the bar pounding beers. I'd say that's a good sign for the future, and will further inspire us to drink beer." Beer Drinking Fools frontman Richie Rheingold added that, "When I heard the news I almost dropped my shish kebob! I also kinda remember dropping my Jack and Coke and knocking a few people over." And, BDF guitarist Brian Ballantine, who's deep and valuable connections to the movie industry orchestrated this compelling union between music and film genius, had this to say: "I haven't been this excited about a movie since I helped lay down the guitar tracks for 'Debbie Does Dallas 2000'. And I mean 'excited' in a purely non-sexual way. The same goes for the use of 'lay'."

"School of Rock" starring Jack Black and Sarah Silverman debuts in theaters on October 3rd. Rated PG-13 for some rude humor and drug references.
